Vega BioImaging

Resulting from university research, Vega BioImaging was founded to tackle a critical issue in cancer diagnostics: the high rate of companion diagnostic errors (ranging from 7% to 30% depending on the pathology). These errors, driven by a lack of quantitativity, often lead to sub-optimal cancer treatment prescriptions.  

By partnering with healthcare providers and pharmaceutical companies, we aim to enhance patient outcomes and accelerate drug development, delivering tailored treatment strategies that improve survival rates while reducing costs for the healthcare system.

Cécile Darviot, with a background in Engineering Physics and experience in project management, leads Vega BioImaging with a vision to revolutionize cancer diagnostics. Her expertise in microscopy and image processing is pivotal in driving our technological advancements.

Arnaud Latreille

COO

Arnaud, a medical student with a passion for entrepreneurship, brings his expertise in medicine and business development to Vega BioImaging. As the Chief Operating Officer, he focuses on market validation and the commercial growth of our innovative diagnostic solutions. His unique combination of medical knowledge and entrepreneurial drive is instrumental in advancing our mission to improve cancer diagnostics and patient care.

Jennyfer Zapata, Ph.D.

CSO

Jennyfer is a PhD with a dual degree in Biomedical Engineering at Polytechnique Montreal and the National Autonomous University of Mexico. As CSO at Vega BioImaging, she leads the company's technology development, specializing in electronic instrumentation, biophotonics, optics, and nanoplasmonics. Her expertise spans applications in gene therapy and laser-based technologies. Jennyfer also chairs the Executive Committee of the Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) in the Pan-Canadian Nanomedicine Innovation Network (NMIN), and she has extensive experience collaborating with industry and research groups on laser micromachining and laser-matter interaction projects.

Paul Raynaud, Ph.D.

CIO

Paul Raynaud oversees the development and integration of advanced computational systems. A PhD specializing in Engineering Mathematics, Paul's expertise lies in optimizing algorithms for machine learning and deep learning applications. His work focuses on enhancing computational efficiency through parallelization techniques, crucial for processing large-scale medical data. At Vega, Paul leads the technical strategy, ensuring the seamless functionality of the company’s software solutions, driving innovation, and supporting the overall goal of advancing precision diagnostics.

With 17 years of research experience at Polytechnique Montréal, Dr. Sergiy Patskovsky is an expert in optical design and the primary inventor of our initial prototypes. He oversees the development and production of our innovative diagnostic tools.

Michel Meunier, Ph.D.

Co-Founder & Scientific Advisor

A professor of Engineering Physics at Polytechnique Montréal, Dr. Michel Meunier brings extensive expertise in biomedical nanotechnology. He initiated the idea of Vega BioImaging in collaboration with Dr. Trudel and maintains vital academic and clinical partnerships.

Dominique Trudel, M.D. Ph.D.

Scientific Advisor

An Associate Professor and researcher at the University of Montreal, Dr. Dominique Trudel's expertise lies in histopathological research and the optical characterization of tissues. Her team supervises the application of our diagnostic platform in clinical settings.

Étienne Crevier, MBA

MBA, Business Advisor

Étienne Crevier is a geneticist and biochemist with extensive experience in clinical and basic research. He combines this scientific expertise with business and administrative training, having 15 years of laboratory research experience and a strong business network in Quebec and Canada. Étienne is a specialist in management and marketing, with a focus on developing healthcare and biotechnology businesses, as well as B2B and B2C sales. He has deep knowledge of the applied academic research community and substantial experience with governmental records related to Quebec and Canada.
